Navegation Bertrand Lake to Cordón Contreras

Duration: 5 Hours

Difficulty: Low

We leave from the Hacienda Tres Lagos Hotel, to drive just 5 km to our dock located on Lake Bertrand, where we will take one of our boats and navigate the emerald green waters and main tributary of the largest river in Chile, the Baker (870 m3/s). Sailing for 30 minutes through this lake of glacial origin with a basin of 48.1 km2, will take us to contemplate the wonderful “Contreras” mountain range that belongs to the “San Rafael Laguna Park” that is inserted in the Northern Ice Fields. This mountain range, also belonging to the Patagonian Andes, has these spectacular hanging snowdrifts where waterfalls of pure, ancient waters drop down to the beaches in front of our boat. Inhospitable beaches that you will only have the opportunity to get there on this adventure, since there is no path to get to know them and you only get there by sailing through Lake Bertrand. We will enjoy this wild landscape, surrounded by glacier waters, pristine forest and a delicious tasting of snacks on board our boat.
